Articles and Publications

As a researcher, my professional career has expanded into the food industry and the medical industry under the umbrella of psycho-oncology research. The articles below are a glimpse into the research work I have done. This provides a lens as to the dedication and procedure that I invoke with all my clients and their individual estate planning goals.

WiLLoW: An Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Intervention for Breast Cancer Survivors to Address Anxiety, Worry, and Fear of Cancer Recurrence (or view here) addressed whether mindfulness and values-based living approaches could improve emotional functioning in cancer survivors. This pilot study had seven session interventions with 90 minute meetings. Via an online survey, validated questionnaires were administered to obtain both quantitative and qualitative data. Results showed a trend toward improved flexibility and adoption of mindfulness skills. More effectively managing day-to-day life better and lower anxiety levels were reported by women who were in the intervention group.

Leveraging Certification Marks for Public Health (or view here) addressed whether increased use of certification marks would affect consumer response by highlighting literature on nutritional labeling. This writing also addressed the understudied issue of market manipulation by briefly discussing the organic labeling debates. In addition, this text has been reviewed in the International and Comparative JOTWELL.
